How much do drinks cost on a Holland America Line cruise ship? Including Menus!

If you’re planning to cruise with Holland America Line, you may be wondering how much drinks cost onboard. You might be looking into this question as you’re considering purchasing a drinks package, or perhaps you enjoy the occasional beverage and are just curious from a budgeting point of view. In this post, I’m going to share with you some of the key venues onboard, and also show you the drinks menus from each of these, to help you plan for your future trip.

Generally, I’ve found Holland America Line’s drinks pricing to be acceptable. I don’t find myself wincing when I’m presented with the bill/cheque, nor do I have to re-mortgage my home to pay for my bar bill at the end of the cruise!

Standard Bar Menu

On Holland America Line ships, you’ll find one ‘overall’ bar menu, with further menus then being offered by most of the venues onboard. You can browse this general bar menu below.

Ocean Bar

Ocean Bar is one of the main bars onboard. On my most recent cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam, this venue was part of the upper-most deck of the main Atrium. You can browse the menu for this bar below. Use the arrows on either side of the image to scroll across the various pages.

Pinnacle Bar

You’ll find the Pinnacle Bar within close proximity to Pinnacle Grill onboard most Holland America Line ships. This venue is perfect for those pre-dinner drinks, or perhaps you’d rather come in here for a night-cap - it’s up to you! In my experience, this bar will be closed during the day on most cruises (except maybe on a ‘sea day’, but you can expect it to come to life in the early evening and keep going well into the night.

You can browse the Pinnacle Bar drinks menu below.

Billboard Onboard

Billboard Onboard is the duelling piano venue onboard Holland America Line’s ships. This venue has its’ own bar, and you can browse the menu below.

Casino Bar

The Casino on board your Holland America Line cruise ship will have its’ own bar. If you’re not lucky enough to have your drinks covered by the Casino, then you’ll be interested in how much you’re going to be paying for each tipple.

You have most of the standard bar menu available in here, with an additional few options, shown below.

Tamarind Bar

Tamarind Bar is a venue that’s located within (or very close to) Tamarind, one of the Speciality restaurants onboard a Holland America Line cruise ship. On my most recent cruise, this bar was relatively quiet most days, and boasted some of the best views looking out over the top decks of the ship.

You can also order some ‘bar snacks’ at this bar - perfect if you’re coming in here for a drink before your evening meal. You can browse the menu below.

BB King’s Blues Club

This venue is a firm favourite of mine, and you’ll find it on the newer and larger Holland America Line cruise ships. During the day, this ‘Blues Club’ will be home to port presentations, quizzes and various other forms of entertainment. In the evening, it’ll come to life as one of the primary venues for live entertainment.

You can browse the drinks menu below.

RollingStone Lounge

The RollingStone Lounge is a rock-inspired venue from Holland America Line. On my recent cruise onboard Nieuw Amsterdam, this was (by far) the most popular venue on the ship in the evenings - the live music in here was absolutely fantastic!

You can browse the bar menu for this lounge below.

Morimoto

If your ship has Morimoto onboard, then you’ll find that there are a couple of special drinks available there. You can browse these options below.

Explorations Cafe

You’ll usually find that Explorations Cafe will be in a prime position onboard your cruise ship. In my experience, this is usually situated in a ‘Crow’s Nest’ position. In other words, you’ll often find this venue at the front of the ship on the highest deck, allowing you some of the best views of the ocean, or whichever part of the world you’re currently visiting.

You can browse the drinks menu for the Explorations Cafe below.

Half Moon Bar

If your ship features a Half Moon Bar, then you can browse the menu below! I don’t have a photo of this venue from my time onboard Rotterdam unfortunately, but do have the drinks menu for you to look through.

Pool Bar

If you enjoy spending time by the pool when you cruise (who doesn’t?!), then the good news is that you’re going to find a bar right there - poolside. The menu’s below.

In-Stateroom Beverage Prices

Are you interested in knowing how much it is to purchase drinks for your stateroom? Below, you’ll find the minibar pricing, in addition to the ‘wine and champagne’ and ‘spirit and beer’ pricing.

Sommelier Suite

If you’re interested in purchasing a Sommelier Package, then this one might be of benefit to you. This package allows you to purchase between 4 and 8 bottles from a ‘cellar’ - you can find the wines, and also the prices, on the below image.

Hopefully you’ve found this page to be of use if you’re currently weighing up whether or not to apply a drinks package to your cruise booking. Perhaps you’re also considering if you should be using the ‘Have it All’ package for your next cruise. If so, you may find the below YouTube video useful.

In this video, I offer you a full summary of the features of the ‘Have it All’ package, and also explain whether or not I found it to be of benefit for my most recent Holland America Line cruise.
