The Ultimate Guide to Rockstar Suites on Virgin Voyages
Let’s talk about the Rockstar experience onboard Virgin Voyages cruise ships. In this post, I’m going to tell you about all of the perks that are available to those passengers cruising in suite-grade accommodation on any Virgin Voyages cruise ship.
Let’s start with a few terminology bits first… Virgin Voyages refer to guests staying in suites onboard as ‘Rockstars’, and the suites on their ships are broken down into two groups: ‘Rockstar Quarters’ and ‘Mega Rockstar Quarters’. I like to think of this as two different classes - '‘Rockstar Quarters’ are VIP, with ‘Mega Rockstar Quarters’ being Very-VIP (if that could be a thing…!).
There are 4 different types of Rockstar Quarters, and 4 Mega Rockstar Quarters, all of which I’m going to show you in this post.

I was lucky enough to get full access to all of the Rockstar suites while visiting Brilliant Lady ahead of her launch, and so all of the photos that you’ll see in this article are entirely my own.
Before we take a look around the individual rooms themselves, let’s talk about the 4 additional perks that passengers (or ‘sailors’ in Virgin-speak) secure when they book a ‘Rockstar Quarter’.
Rockstar Perks
1. Richard’s Rooftop access - as a Rockstar, you’ll unlock access to the suite guest-only sun terrace that is Richard’s Rooftop. This place has a vibe similar to a swanky Ibiza beach club, and you’ll find it at the front of the ship on Deck 16. Think cabanas, comfy loungers, a private bar and hot tubs, and you’ll probably have a good picture in your mind of the Richard’s Rooftop experience. Here’s a few photos to set the scene…

This place gives such strong ‘beach club’ vibes.

2. An In-room bar set up, with the first round included. With this perk, the bar in your suite will be fully stocked with a selection of drinks. It won’t be refilled, but you can pay as you go to fill it up throughout the cruise (of course!). Just speak with your cabin attendant, or a Rockstar Agent (we’ll come back to this in a second).
Yes, there’s a bar inside your suite, and you’ll get the first round of drinks included as a Rockstar guest.
3. Early booking/priority access. You’ll be among the first to board the ship on embarkation day, giving you the best chances to secure the eateries, events, experiences and shore excursions that you want ahead of anyone else. On this point - don’t worry if you missed the ’45 days before’ date - Virgin Voyages don’t offer ALL of their restaurant times for pre-booking, so you’ve got a good chance of securing your preferred dates and times once you board the ship.
Looking to book your favourite restaurant? Don’t worry - you’ll be onboard first!
You can speak to your Rockstar Agent to help you secure the best spots…
4. Access to a Rockstar Agent. As a Rockstar, you’ll have access to the team of Rockstar Agents. You don’t get your own agent though - that’s a perk that comes with booking a ‘Mega Rockstar Quarter’, which we’ll move to look at next.
This all sounds good, right? So how does this experience differ to booking a ‘Mega Rockstar’ suite? Well, Mega Rockstars also receive the Richard’s Rooftop and Priority benefits above, but their other perks really are the ‘next level’ from what you’ve just read.
There are 6 additional perks that come with the Mega Rockstar experience vs standard Rockstar.
Mega Rockstar Perks
1. Mega Rockstars will be able to enjoy drinks around the ship with a ‘daily bar tab’. Virgin Voyages explains that this is ‘within reason’ on their website, but they don’t specify an exact limit for individual drinks. There is a limit on bottles of wine per day, and this is capped at 2 bottles of wine ($90 total value) per cabin per day.
2. Daily Spa Access. I love this perk - you’ll get free access to the Redemption Spa’s stunning Thermal Suite, one of the easiest places to relax onboard a Virgin Voyages cruise ship!
3. Transfer or complimentary parking. Mega Rockstars get a private transfer or free parking by the ship (where available), to allow them the easiest and most stress-free departure possible.
4. A Mega Rockstar Agent. As a Rockstar, you get access to the team of Agents, but as a Mega Rockstar, you’ll be greeted by your own personal Rockstar Agent. This Agent will be, in a nutshell, responsible for making your cruise as good as it can be by seeing to your every need and request!
5. A bottomless in-room bar. This perk is different to the Rockstar version, as the drinks in your room bar set up will just keep magically refilling throughout your cruise… You’d better arrive thirsty!
6. Work from Sea WiFi. As a Mega Rockstar, you’ll automatically receive the best WiFi package available onboard. This is the WiFi package that Virgin Voyages offers to anyone taking advantage of the ‘Work from Sea’ initiative.
If you’re going to be cruising to Bimini in the Bahamas, where Virgin Voyages has their private resort, then you can look forward to other perks like access to the private Rockstar-only area. There are also other onboard benefits like Rockstar lines for some facilities and waived Room Service delivery fees, but they’re pretty minor compared to the main perks listed above.
So, that’s the perks that you get when you book into these suites. Let’s now move on to look at the rooms themselves.
The Rockstar accommodation is so different to the ‘standard’ accommodation on the Virgin Voyages cruise ships!
What does a ‘Rockstar Quarter’ look like on a Virgin Voyages ship?
Let me now show you every one of the Rockstar Quarters available onboard the Virgin Voyages cruise ships.
There are 4 Rockstar Quarters available onboard:
Sweet Aft Suite (416 - 661 sq ft)
Seriously Suite (352 sq ft)
Cheeky Corner Suite (615 - 857 sq ft)
Brilliant Suite (482 sq ft)
Generally speaking, these rooms are fairly similar from a ‘furnishings and finish’ point of view. The main difference that will may sway your decision on which to book is their location - you’ll find the Seriously Suites and the Brilliant Suites towards the front of the ship on the higher decks (specifically decks 12 and 14) whereas the Cheeky Corner and Sweet Aft Suites are, as the names suggest, at the back of the ship.
If you’re after those views off the back of the ship and across the Wake, it would obviously be one of the latter suites that you’d be looking to book.
Looking up to some of the Aft-facing suites onboard Brilliant Lady.

Brilliant Suite (482 sq ft)

What does a ‘Mega Rockstar Quarter’ look like on a Virgin Voyages ship?
Moving on to the Mega Rockstar Quarters, there are 4 different grades available:
Gorgeous Suite (570 sq ft)
Posh Suite (833 sq ft)
Fab Suite (950 sq ft)
Massive Suite (2,147 sq ft) - yes, you read that number correctly…!
All of these suites are at the front of the ship on Deck 15, and they really are a different level to the standard accommodation options onboard.
There are 9 Gorgeous Suites onboard, and just 2 Posh Suites, 2 Fab Suites and 2 Massive Suites. In other words, if you’d like to secure one of these suites, you might need to book early!

Posh Suite (833 sq ft)

Fab Suite (950 sq ft)

Massive Suite (2,147 sq ft)

The location of these rooms means you’re staying in the closest suites to the top deck. In fact, you share a deck with the Aquatic Club (which is where the main swimming pool is) and also the Gyms and Galley, so you don’t have far to travel to use any of those facilities).
You’ll be close to the Aquatic Club - time to relax…!
You’re also directly underneath Richard’s Rooftop, so again you really don’t have far to travel to get up to, or down from, that space!
So, is the Rockstar Experience on Virgin Voyages worth it?
Well, that’s all down to you, I guess. If you’re going to use the facilities and perks, and you want to have a superior accommodation, then you might find this is the route you’d like to explore for your future Virgin Voyages cruise. Full disclaimer - I’ve never cruised in a Rockstar suite - I’ve only ever used the ‘standard’ accommodation onboard the Virgin ships. For that reason, I was THRILLED to get inside during my visit to Brilliant Lady.
